My journey with yoga started over twenty years ago when I lived in Asia. Since then, I have explored and practiced various styles. Recently, I have been leaning more towards gentle vinyasa flow, and restorative yoga. I simply feel these styles help me achieve the best balance that my body and mind need.
My class typically starts with some breath-controlled exercises (pranayama) followed by a series of yoga postures (asanas). Fitness levels, age or previous experience do not matter as I offer modifications for everyone hoping to create a very inclusive environment where you can feel welcome and comfortable, regardless of your experience. The idea is just to explore your body, and not strive for perfection. The class ends with a resting period to enable some inner reflection and relaxation.
I love the fact that yoga is a complete system with various elements that complement each other. Asanas are a powerful way to explore your body and help you become stronger, flexible and healthier. By focusing on the breath, you can achieve a sense of peace when it is most needed. And some elements of meditation help you feel more connected with yourself.
